Favorite Pirate Songs

I'm only picking two to add videos of, but there is a ton of them that I love. First up is "Hoist the Colours" written by Gore Verbinski, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. It was the song at the beginning of the last installment of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I find myself singing this one randomly. As far as I know, this is just a cover, but a good one.

Next up is "Wolves of the Sea" by Alestorm. They didn't originally do the song, but their cover is amazing. This one always makes me feel great.

There are a ton of other songs (Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum,What Shall We Do With a Drunken Sailor) and even bands (Abney Park, Alestorm, Captain Dan and the Scurvy Crew) that are amazing, but these are my two all time favorites. Sorry to all you ninjas, knights, vikings, and cowboys out there. I still have love for you all.

I finish with the question, what side are you on?

This book was really bad

I switched up lists and rolled "This book was really bad." There is only one book that comes to mind, "In the Teeth of Akoum" by Robert B. Wintermute.

First of all, I don't even think they had an editor. There were references to the main character, a female, that were wrong. "Nissa thought this and that. HE would have never faced this from wherever." That made me rage so much. There were other errors in it too, but those were the most memorable.

Second, the levels of which people's power should of been were terrible. Somehow, Nissa, a younger magic user, was more powerful than possibly one of the oldest and this man was also a vampire. Last I checked, vampires get better with age and more powerful.

Lastly, nothing happened. Nothing! It read out like a diary from the main character. Think Lord of the Rings but on a smaller scale and you're following only hobbits. Most boring read I have ever experienced. I skipped almost the whole middle just to see what happened at the end.  So yea, never check this book out. Hope everyone had a great holiday. :-)

It isn't fair....

This topic can go so many ways. Stuff that isn't fair to the me personally, stuff that isn't fair as a whole in the world. In the spirit of the holiday, I choose not to be selfish.

It isn't fair that people and especially kids are going hungry in the world while others eat until they are sick. It's not fair that there are kids out there who won't be receiving a gift for their holiday. It's not fair that some kids don't have a family to spend the holidays with. There are parents out there who deserve to spend Christmas with their kids but can't for one reason or another. My soon to be brother-in-law is like that.

Hate to bring you down and all, but I'm just saying that we should all be thankful for what we have and who we have in our lives. What do you think is unfair?

Describe Saturdays At Your Home

Saturdays are quite lazy. It's the day in between work and cleaning house. This day is usually laying around and reading a book or playing computer games. Last Saturday was all about watching movies. I finally watched The Book of Eli and loved it. Definitely crushing on Mila Kunis now. I already knew the twist before the end of the movie, but it didn't really ruin it for me.

After that, I watched Equilibrium again. It has some pretty deep messages and was fun.

I also saw Requiem For A Dream. People said that movie was pretty trippy and messed up. I didn't see it though. It just reminded me of any other movie about drug use. The only part I found weird was with the mother. I wish we had more back story on her like if she was previously on drugs or what. She seemed weird in the beginning, but not sure what to attribute it to.

So my describe Saturdays post turned into a movie post. I guess this is a sign of things to come, lol.

An introduction

I am Kindros and will be taking you on this journey using Random.org to determine the topic or topics I will be talking about on a regular basis. By doing this, I will also be compiling one large list of topics that I hope will get to 500 broad questions or statements that can encourage discussion between anyone. Some of these may seem to be innocent at first, but are highly debatable and controversial to some people.

I will also be doing other posts about my writing, technology, movies, or whatever else seems to be on my mind at the time. Glad to have you along. :-)
